Inaugural Tournament – Opening Night
The Kings of Kitsap Alumni Tournament started with a memorable opening ceremony featuring player introductions from all participating schools. Luke Flemister delivered a captivating rendition of the national anthem, setting the stage for an exciting night of basketball. The first game showcased a thrilling competition between Bremerton and Olympic High Schools. Bremerton dominated throughout the game, securing a convincing victory with a final score of 108-79. Marvin Williams of Bremerton stood out as the top scorer, contributing 27 points, while Rodney Jones led the charge for Olympic with 14 points. It was a high-scoring affair that set the tone for the tournament’s intense battles and showcased the skills of these talented alumni athletes.
Game two of the opening night featured a thrilling showdown between the Central Kitsap (CK) and South Kitsap (SK) alumni. From the start, it was an intense and high-scoring affair. CK took a narrow 22-20 lead after the first quarter, but SK stormed back in the second quarter, outscoring CK 24-20 to claim a slim 44-42 halftime lead. Both teams battled fiercely in the third quarter, with an even scoring output of 28 points each. In a nail-biting fourth quarter, CK outscored SK by a single point (20-19) but still came up short. In a tightly contested match, SK emerged victorious with a score of 91-90. Tysaiah Curry led SK with 20 points, While Lucas Henne put up 17 points for CK, despite their team falling just short of the win.


Round Robin
In a fiercely contested game of the round-robin format, Central Kitsap and Olympic High alumni battled it out on the court. Central Kitsap took an early lead in the first quarter (19-16) and continued to dominate, outscoring Olympic in subsequent quarters. Ultimately, Central Kitsap emerged victorious with a final score of 74-56. Lucas Henne led the charge for Central with an impressive 17 points, while Chester Thomas showcased his skills for Olympic, contributing 13 points. It was an intense matchup that exemplified the competitive spirit of these talented alumni athletes
In a thrilling game of the round-robin format, South Kitsap and Bremerton alumni clashed in an epic battle. Bremerton dominated early, taking a 22-12 lead in the first quarter, but South showed resilience, outscoring Bremerton in the second and third quarters. Heading into the fourth with a one-point lead, South Kitsap’s 1-3-1 defense posed a challenge, but Bremerton adjusted and ultimately secured a hard-fought victory with a final score of 97-84. Marvin Williams led the charge for Bremerton, scoring a game-high 23 points, while Adam Bennett showcased his skills, contributing 16 points for South Kitsap.
In a challenging back-to-back game, South Kitsap faced off against Olympic High School alumni in an intense battle. South started strong, taking a first-quarter lead of 22-19, but Olympic rallied in the second quarter, outscoring South 26-9 to secure a 45-30 lead at halftime. Despite a strong effort from South in the third quarter, outscoring Olympic 26-20, Olympic maintained their lead in the fourth quarter, finishing with an impressive 87-71 victory. Rodney Jones led the way for Olympic, scoring a game-high 20 points, while Tysaiah Curry showcased his skills, leading South in scoring with 16 points.
In a highly charged game that determined seeding for the championship round, Bremerton and Central Kitsap alumni clashed in a fiercely competitive matchup. Central Kitsap jumped ahead early, securing a 19-14 lead in the first quarter. However, Bremerton responded in the second quarter, outscoring Central 14-13 to cut the lead to just 4 points at halftime. With halftime adjustments in place, Bremerton dominated in the third and fourth quarters, outscoring Central 19-16 and 15-10, respectively, to clinch a close victory of 62-58. Emotions ran high, resulting in multiple technicals, showcasing the intensity of this thrilling encounter. Marvin Williams led all scorers with an impressive 22 points, while Lucas Henne led Central Kitsap in scoring with 18 points. It was a game that left spectators on the edge of their seats, setting the stage for an exhilarating championship round in the Kings of Kitsap Alumni Tournament.




Elimination Round
In an intense elimination round matchup, top-seeded Bremerton faced off against Olympic High, the fourth seed. With Marvin Williams resting for Bremerton, Olympic capitalized in the second quarter, narrowing the lead to just two points at halftime. The game remained closely contested in the third quarter, with Olympic trailing by only one point. However, Bremerton made critical adjustments in the fourth quarter, dominating Olympic with a staggering 30-8 run to secure a decisive 95-71 victory. Patrick Lewis shone as the game’s top scorer, tallying an impressive 27 points, while Rodney Jones led Olympic with 13 points.
In a thrilling elimination round, the second-seeded Central Kitsap clashed with the third-seeded South Kitsap in an intense back-and-forth matchup. The game remained even throughout, with a dead-even first quarter at 25-25, and Central edging ahead by a single point at halftime (42-41). Central surged in the third quarter, outscoring South 24-15, but South mounted an impressive comeback in the fourth, forcing overtime with a 23-14 run. In the nail-biting overtime period, Central ultimately prevailed, outscoring South 15-9 to secure a hard-fought 94-88 victory. LP Neloms led all scorers for South with an outstanding 25 points, while Cody Thurmond spearheaded Central’s effort with 16 points.


Championship
In an intensely anticipated championship game, the top-seeded Bremerton faced off against the second-seeded Central Kitsap. From the onset, the game was charged with anticipation, as Central Kitsap boasted about their defensive prowess against the legendary Marvin Williams. However, Williams came out with fiery intensity, leading Bremerton to a strong start and setting the tone for an epic battle. Bremerton held a slim lead at halftime (42-37), but surged ahead in the second half, outscoring Central Kitsap in both the third and fourth quarters. With an incredible performance, Marvin Williams finished with a game-high 51 points, securing a resounding 94-74 victory for Bremerton and crowning them as the first inaugural tournament champions.
